Rye Field Models Plastic Model Kit

StuG. III Ausf. G Early Production (1/35) RM5069

The StuG. III Ausf. G was the most produced and widely used variant of Germany’s iconic assault gun series. Rye Field Models’ 1/35 scale early production version captures the specific features of the initial Ausf. G batch, including the low-profile commander’s cupola, bolted mantlet and early-type side skirts. With finely detailed parts and historically accurate engineering, this kit is ideal for modellers focusing on Eastern Front or North African theatres.

  • Early production features with welded roof and initial-type cupola
  • Detailed 75mm StuK 40 L/48 gun and mantlet
  • Individual track links and workable suspension
  • Optional side skirts, hatches and stowage
  • Clear and photo-etch parts included
  • Marking options for early-war German assault gun units

Note: This model kit requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.

History

The Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III) was originally developed as an infantry support vehicle, but evolved into one of Germany’s most effective tank destroyers. The Ausf. G variant, introduced in 1942, featured a fixed casemate superstructure and a powerful 75mm gun. Early production versions retained many features from previous models, including the welded structure and early cupola design. With its low silhouette and excellent firepower, the StuG III proved effective in ambush tactics and defensive roles across the Eastern Front and other theatres. Over 10,000 units were built, making it the most produced German armoured fighting vehicle of the war.
