Special Hobby AT-6 Texan/Harvard Little Warrior 1/72 Hi-Tech Kit

Build a varied selection of combat-configured AT-6 Texan and Harvard aircraft with this 1/72 Special Hobby Hi-Tech kit. Academy AT-6 mouldings are complemented by newly tooled injection-moulded canopies, plus 3D-printed, resin and etched components for aircraft operated by several different air forces.

The decal sheet covers six distinctive subjects from American, French, Spanish, Syrian and Israeli service. Together with the included undercarriage components and 3D-printed underwing armament, these choices provide an engaging project with wide-ranging historical and visual appeal.

From Trainer to Combat Aircraft

The AT-6 Texan, also known as the Harvard, was used mainly for training during the Second World War. North American had anticipated during its design that some operators would also employ the aircraft in combat.

After WWII, the Texan proved effective in counter-guerrilla operations and the Forward Air Control role. USAF Texan squadrons nicknamed “Mosquito” served during the Korean War, while France, Spain, Britain and Portugal operated armed examples in colonial or anti-communist conflicts in Africa.

Texans also fought in Greece, served on both sides during the first Israeli-Arab wars and took part in conflicts, uprisings and revolutions across South America. This broad combat career gives the type a remarkable selection of possible operators and settings.

Hi-Tech Kit Components

The core Academy mouldings are joined by newly tooled, injection-moulded canopies suitable for the various versions represented. Special Hobby also includes 3D-printed, resin and etched undercarriage parts for Texans from different air forces.

Additional 3D-printed components portray the underwing armament, supporting the armed configurations featured among the marking choices. The mix of moulded, resin, etched and 3D-printed elements makes this a feature-rich addition to a collection of 1/72 aircraft.

Six International Marking Options

  • Two USAF Texans from the Korean War
  • French aircraft from Algeria with a painted beast mouth
  • Spanish Texan with wing-mounted machine guns
  • Syrian aircraft whose gunner shot down an S-199 fighter
  • Israeli Air Force Harvard
  • New injection-moulded canopies
  • 3D-printed underwing armament
  • Resin and etched detail parts

The six subjects offer eye-catching colours and aircraft with distinctive operational histories. This combination of international markings, combat configurations and Hi-Tech components makes the kit a versatile choice for Texan and Harvard enthusiasts.
