The twin-engine Vautour was one of the major achievements of French post-war aircraft design, serving both as a fighter and bomber. Israel acquired the single-seat fighter-bomber version, which the French Air Force never used, and these aircraft played a crucial role during the Six-Day War, achieving several air victories and providing vital ground support against neighbouring forces.
