The BMW 320i Racing was developed for BMW’s renewed 1977 challenge in the 2-litre class. Based on the 320i two-door saloon released in 1975, the racing version was equipped with a 298hp, 2,000cc 16-valve inline-four engine. Its aerodynamic body incorporated a pronounced chin spoiler and rear wing, giving the car the purposeful appearance captured by this 1/24 scale kit.

The real 320i Racing made its debut at the opening race of the 1977 season, the 24 Hours of Daytona, before becoming part of a fierce 2-litre class rivalry with Porsche.
