Bristol Beaufighter Mk.VI (1/48) 61053
The Bristol Beaufighter was one of the RAF’s most formidable twin-engine aircraft of the Second World War. Entering service in 1940, it quickly earned a reputation for its heavy armament, which included four 20mm cannons in the nose and six 7.7mm machine guns in the wings. Originally conceived as a long-range fighter, the Beaufighter adapted to numerous roles, including night fighter, maritime strike, and ground attack duties.
- 1/48 scale precision plastic model kit
- Highly detailed twin-engine design with accurate surface textures
- Faithful reproduction of nose-mounted cannons and wing-mounted machine guns
- Options for RAF and Coastal Command markings
- Detailed cockpit and observer’s position
- Clear assembly instructions for an authentic build
The Mk.VI variant introduced the more powerful 1,670hp Hercules VI engines, improved tailplane dihedral for better stability, and a rearward-firing 7.7mm gun in the observer’s canopy. Beaufighters served in diverse theatres including Europe, the Mediterranean, North Africa, the Middle East, and the Pacific. More than 5,900 were built, and their versatility and resilience made them a key asset for Allied forces throughout the war.
