This 1/20 scale plastic model kit recreates the Toyota Celica LB Turbo Gr.5, a high-performance Group 5 race car developed for the 1977 Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft (German Racing Championship). Based on the Celica Liftback, this racing machine was transformed with extensive aerodynamic enhancements, including wide over fenders, a large rear wing, and lightweight FRP body panels. Beneath its aggressive exterior lay a heavily tuned 2,090cc inline-4 DOHC turbocharged engine producing an impressive 560hp, enabling it to take on – and beat – rivals like the Porsche 935. The Celica LB Turbo debuted in July 1977, achieving its first victory just three months later in October.
