Tamiya Plastic Model Kit
McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle (1/32) 60312
This 1/32 scale kit from Tamiya recreates the formidable McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle, a dual-role fighter designed to deliver both air superiority and precision ground strikes. First deployed in 1989 and famously used during the Gulf War, the F-15E was developed as an advanced evolution of the F-15, fitted with a two-person crew, enhanced avionics, and the capability to carry a vast and modern weapons payload.
- Features updated weaponry including GBU-28, JDAMs, AGM-130, and AMRAAMs
- Radar, nose panel, and Vulcan cannon hatch can be modelled open or closed
- Die-cast metal landing gear with synthetic rubber tyres
- Highly detailed cockpit and internal systems
- Canopy and air brakes can be posed in raised or lowered positions
- Screw-fastened fuselage and wing construction for strength
This modernised version of the original 60302 kit reflects the latest combat loadouts and aircraft upgrades, making it an essential project for modellers interested in post-Cold War aviation. With over 600mm in length and packed with intricate details, it offers both scale presence and technical satisfaction.
Note: This model kit requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.
History:
Initially developed in the 1970s, the F-15 Eagle earned a reputation as one of the world’s most capable jet fighters. The F-15E Strike Eagle emerged in the 1980s as a response to the need for a dual-role aircraft capable of penetrating enemy territory and conducting precision strikes. Equipped with the LANTRIN navigation and targeting system, and able to carry an 11-ton payload including bunker-busting bombs, the F-15E was deployed in multiple conflicts from the Gulf War onward. Its twin-engine design, advanced avionics, and powerful radar continue to make it a core asset in U.S. Air Force operations today.
