This 1/35 scale Tamiya kit depicts the German Flakpanzer Mobelwagen, a World War II self-propelled anti-aircraft vehicle built on the Panzer IV chassis. Designed as an interim measure to counter increasing Allied air superiority, the Mobelwagen was armed with a single 3.7cm Flak 43 cannon mounted within folding armour panels that could be lowered for combat or raised for travel.

History: Introduced in 1944, the Flakpanzer Mobelwagen was developed as a mobile anti-aircraft platform to protect German armoured formations from Allied aircraft. Although it lacked the fully enclosed turret of later designs, its robust firepower and mobility made it an effective stopgap. Serving primarily on the Western Front and in Germany during the final stages of the war, the Mobelwagen played a key role in defending vital troop and supply movements against low-level air attacks.
