History
The German Africa Corps was formed in early 1941 to support Axis forces in North Africa against the British and Commonwealth armies. Operating primarily in Libya, Egypt, and Tunisia, the DAK became renowned for its skillful manoeuvres and use of combined arms tactics, often achieving success against numerically superior forces. Equipped with a mix of German and Italian vehicles, and adapted uniforms suited for the desert climate, they fought in campaigns including the Siege of Tobruk and the battles of El Alamein. Despite their reputation, logistical challenges and sustained Allied offensives led to their eventual surrender in Tunisia in May 1943.
