This 1/700 scale Tamiya kit recreates the German battlecruiser Gneisenau, a powerful capital ship commissioned in May 1938 and sister ship to the Scharnhorst. Designed for speed and versatility, Gneisenau was capable of reaching 32 knots and combined strong armour protection with formidable firepower. Her main armament of nine 28 cm guns was supported by twelve 15 cm guns, fourteen 10 cm anti-aircraft guns, sixteen 37 mm AA machine guns, ten 20 mm AA machine guns, and six 53 cm torpedo tubes.
