This 1/700 scale Tamiya kit recreates the Royal Navy’s HMS Nelson, sister ship to HMS Rodney and one of the most distinctive British battleships of the interwar years and World War II. Laid down in 1922 and completed in 1927, Nelson featured a unique forward-mounted main battery of nine 16-inch guns in triple turrets, backed by secondary 6-inch and 4.7-inch anti-aircraft armament. Weight-saving measures in her construction included lightweight steel, aluminium, and fireproofed plywood for internal structures, without compromising the thick armour protection.
