Tamiya Plastic Model Kit

Tamiya Mig-29 Fulcrum (1/72)

Recreate one of the most iconic Cold War-era jet fighters with the Tamiya Mig-29 Fulcrum (1/72), a compact yet detailed plastic model kit representing the Soviet-designed multi-role fighter. Developed in the 1970s to counter the American F-15 and F-16, the MiG-29 offered high agility, powerful thrust-to-weight ratio, and advanced avionics for its time. It remains in service with multiple air forces around the world today.

This 1/72 scale kit captures the sleek lines and twin-engine configuration of the Fulcrum, including its distinctive LERX (leading-edge root extensions), large air intakes, and twin vertical stabilisers. Surface details are finely engraved and the cockpit area includes essential layout features. This build is ideal for Cold War aviation enthusiasts or those expanding a modern jet collection.

  • 1/72 scale plastic model of the MiG-29 Fulcrum fighter
  • Detailed fuselage, tailplanes, and engine nacelles
  • Includes underwing stores and optional parts
  • Clear canopy parts and pilot figure included
  • Assembly required, paint and glue sold separately

This model kit requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.

History:

The Mikoyan MiG-29, NATO reporting name ‘Fulcrum’, was developed by the Soviet Union as a high-performance air superiority fighter. First flown in 1977 and entering service in the early 1980s, the MiG-29 was notable for its agility and dogfighting capabilities, enhanced by its thrust-vectoring nozzles and advanced radar systems. It was widely exported and has seen service in numerous conflicts from the Gulf War to more recent operations in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Continual upgrades have kept the aircraft relevant in the modern era.
