History: The T-62A was officially unveiled during the May 1965 Victory Day Parade marking 20 years since the end of World War II. Developed as an evolution of the T-54/55, it featured advanced armour and improved weaponry designed to counter new NATO tank designs. Though produced in limited numbers compared to the standard T-62, the T-62A played a pivotal role in Soviet armoured development and set the stage for future main battle tanks in the USSR’s arsenal.
