  • Features the universal “C” wing configuration
  • Detailed Merlin engine with optional cowling positions

This model captures the spirit and engineering excellence of the RAF’s most iconic fighter. Designed for historical accuracy and display versatility, it is a rewarding build for enthusiasts of WWII aviation history.

Note: This model kit requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.

History:

The Supermarine Spitfire, designed by R.J. Mitchell, became a symbol of British resilience and air superiority during the Second World War. The Mk.IX variant emerged in 1942 in response to the German Fw190A, which had outperformed earlier Spitfire models. The Mk.IX’s upgraded engine and versatile armament configuration enabled it to reclaim the edge in aerial combat, particularly over Western Europe. It served in a variety of roles, including interception, bomber escort, and ground attack, and was used by several Allied air forces. The combination of agility, firepower, and technological advancement made the Spitfire Mk.IXC one of the most effective fighters of the era and a lasting symbol of Allied air power.
