History: U.S. Army infantry were the backbone of American military operations during WWII, fighting in theatres from North Africa and Italy to France, Germany, and the Pacific. Armed primarily with the M1 Garand rifle, Thompson submachine gun, and Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR), these troops were known for their adaptability, resourcefulness, and relentless drive. Their involvement in major operations such as D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge, and island-hopping campaigns in the Pacific helped secure Allied victory in 1945.
