Tamiya Plastic Model Kit

Valentine Mk.II/IV (1/35) 35352

This 1/35 scale kit by Tamiya recreates the British Army’s Valentine Mk.II/IV, an infantry tank designed for reliable performance in WWII. Known for its compact silhouette and thick armour, the Valentine was one of Britain’s most produced tanks of the war. The Mk.II and Mk.IV variants saw significant action in the North African campaign and were also exported in large numbers to the Soviet Union via the Lend-Lease programme.

  • 1/35 scale model kit with precise detailing and realistic proportions
  • Depicts Mk.II and Mk.IV variants with optional parts
  • Die-cast lower hull for added weight and realism
  • Includes realistic tracks with assembly parts
  • Detailed turret and hull with optional stowage and tools
  • Commander torso figure included for display in open hatch
  • Markings for both British and Soviet Lend-Lease service included

Note: This model kit requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.

History

Developed in the late 1930s, the Valentine Infantry Tank was designed as a balance between cost, protection and mobility. Drawing on cruiser tank experience, it retained a lower profile and simpler engineering, allowing for mass production during the early and most desperate phases of WWII. With over 7,300 built, the Valentine represented more than 30% of British wartime tank output. It was heavily used in the North African desert, where its thick armour and reliability proved advantageous, although its small turret limited upgrades. The Mk.II featured a petrol engine, while the Mk.IV introduced a more powerful GMC diesel engine. The tank also saw extensive use by Soviet forces, who valued it for reconnaissance and support roles.
