Deployed from 1944 onwards, King Tigers saw action on both Eastern and Western fronts, combining immense battlefield presence with devastating firepower.

While highly effective in combat, the tank was hindered by excessive weight, mechanical unreliability, and production difficulties. Only a limited number were produced, and though they couldn’t stop the Allied advance, their impact and legacy endure.

History:

The SdKfz 182 King Tiger was the final evolution of German heavy tank design in WWII. Built with a powerful main gun and thick frontal armour, it posed a serious threat to Allied armoured forces. The Henschel turret was the most widely produced configuration, though proposed upgrades included fitting a 105mm main gun for increased firepower. This kit depicts that concept variant, offering a glimpse into late-war design intentions.
