Victrix Plastic Miniatures

12mm British Infantry and Heavy Weapons VG12014

This 12mm (1:144 scale) World War II infantry set from Victrix includes 184 finely detailed miniatures, pushing the limits of tooling at this scale to produce figures with exceptional definition and accuracy. Designed to represent a full British infantry company at a 1:1 scale, this set offers remarkable depth, variety, and realism for its size.

The miniatures are mostly one-piece castings for ease of assembly, with some multipart heavy weapons like mortars and machine guns. Figures include riflemen, Bren gunners, NCOs, snipers, officers, radio operators, and a complete selection of support weapons. The level of detail achieved in these figures surpasses that found in many 15mm and even 20mm scale models, offering collectors and wargamers an ideal way to build out a historically accurate British force for late-war scenarios.

This set is part of the growing Victrix 12mm range, with planned expansions to include American, Russian, and additional airborne troops—making it a perfect foundation for future armies.

History:

By the later stages of World War II, British infantry tactics had evolved to rely on fire and movement, supported by portable anti-tank weapons and machine guns. Units were built around the dependable Lee-Enfield rifle, the versatile Bren gun, and the PIAT anti-tank launcher. Mortars provided indirect fire, while Vickers machine guns laid down sustained fire support. Officers and NCOs played key roles in battlefield coordination, often using radios to call in artillery or report enemy positions. This set captures the full composition of a British infantry company, making it ideal for representing forces engaged in the Normandy campaign, Operation Market Garden, or the final push into Germany in 1945. Their discipline, adaptability, and well-drilled teamwork helped secure Allied victory in Europe.
