Victrix Plastic Model Figures
French Napoleonic Dragoons 1807–1812 (28mm) VX0022
This 28mm hard plastic set from Victrix depicts French Napoleonic Dragoons in their pre-Bardin regulation uniforms, worn from 1807 through to 1812—and in many cases well into 1813. Featuring dynamic poses that capture the energy of a cavalry charge, the miniatures wield sabres at the ready, ideal for recreating battlefield moments from the Russian campaign to Leipzig.
The kit includes 12 mounted figures: 9 troopers, an officer, a trumpeter, and a sapper. All wear the long-tailed coat typical of the period. The set provides multiple head options, allowing you to model your figures as either standard line dragoons or Elite company troops. Elite companies were distinguished by fringed epaulettes and often sported bearskin headgear for added battlefield presence.
These figures are perfect for building regiments used during the later campaigns of the Empire, offering flexibility, detail, and historical accuracy for collectors and wargamers alike.

History:
French Dragoons were among the most versatile cavalry in Napoleon’s Grande Armée. Originally designed to fight both mounted and dismounted, they evolved into a heavy cavalry force known for aggressive charges and battlefield mobility. Their distinctive green coats and Roman-style helmets gave them a striking appearance, and they featured prominently in campaigns from Spain to Russia. Though the 1812 Bardin regulations introduced uniform changes, many regiments retained their older long-tailed coats through 1813. Elite companies within each regiment were marked by fringed epaulettes and sometimes bearskins—features faithfully captured in this Victrix set, offering modellers a glimpse into one of Napoleon’s most iconic cavalry arms.
