Victrix 28mm Plastic Figures

WW2 Late War German Heavy Weapons Support (1944-1945) VW2002

This 28mm plastic set from Victrix expands on their popular German Infantry release by focusing on the heavy weapons that gave late-war units their formidable firepower. The box provides three heavy weapons sprues and two main infantry sprues, offering a versatile range of options for building detailed support elements within your army. Designed for use in 1944–1945 scenarios, these figures depict Panzergrenadiers and other well-equipped frontline troops outfitted with Zeltbahns, camo smocks, and a wide selection of weapons.

  • 3 MG42s on tripod with crew
  • 3 MG42s on bipod
  • 3 81mm mortars with crews
  • 3 Panzerschreck teams
  • 9 Panzerfausts
  • Infantry with rifles, MP40s, and StG 44s
  • Multiple head and arm options for customisation
  • Figures include snipers, radio operators, medics, officers and loaders
  • Accessory parts such as binoculars, grenades, mortar shells and ammo tins

Every figure can be assembled uniquely, with interchangeable arms, heads and equipment to create a dynamic and varied force. The inclusion of camouflaged clothing and specialist weapons captures the look of motivated late-war German units.

History:

By 1944, the German Army relied heavily on its advanced infantry weapons to counter the increasing numerical superiority of the Allies. The MG42, with its high rate of fire, became the backbone of German squads, often deployed on tripods or bipods with dedicated crews. Panzerfausts and Panzerschrecks were widely issued to combat the growing presence of Allied armour, providing infantry with powerful anti-tank capability. Mortars remained a crucial support weapon, offering indirect firepower to pin down or disrupt enemy formations. Panzergrenadiers, often better trained and equipped than standard infantry, made full use of these weapons, combining mobility with devastating firepower. This set captures the essence of late-war German tactical doctrine, where heavy weapons were distributed liberally to maximise battlefield effectiveness during the desperate fighting of 1944–1945.
