12mm M10 Wolverine Tank Destroyer VG12007

This highly detailed set from Victrix contains six 12mm (1:144 scale) M10 Wolverine tank destroyers, perfect for representing U.S. anti-tank forces during World War II. Designed for wargamers and collectors alike, the set includes a decal sheet to enhance the authenticity of your builds.

The M10, officially designated as the 3-inch Gun Motor Carriage M10, was built on the reliable chassis of the M4 Sherman. Armed with the 3-inch M7 gun and a .50 calibre machine gun, the M10 combined mobility, firepower, and battlefield versatility. With over 6,000 units produced, it became the most widely used tank destroyer in the U.S. arsenal.

Its open-topped turret allowed for greater situational awareness and quicker reloads, although at the cost of crew protection. Despite the eventual development of more heavily armoured tank destroyers like the M36, the M10 remained in active service through to the end of the war thanks to its solid performance and adaptability in a range of theatres.

  • 6 x 12mm M10 Wolverine Tank Destroyers
  • Decal sheet included

Note: This set requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.

History:

First entering production in 1942, the M10 Wolverine was developed in response to the growing threat of German armoured forces. With its 3-inch (76.2mm) M7 gun mounted in a rotating turret, it marked a significant leap forward from earlier fixed-gun platforms. The U.S. Army’s tank destroyer doctrine emphasised speed and firepower over heavy armour, and the M10 fit this role admirably. It played a crucial part in Allied campaigns across North Africa, Italy, and Western Europe. Notably, M10s also served with British and Free French forces under Lend-Lease agreements. Although eventually overshadowed by the M18 Hellcat and M36 Jackson, the M10 remained a reliable and widely respected vehicle throughout the war.
