Victrix Plastic Model Figures

Macedonian Phalangites (28mm) VXA019

This 28mm hard plastic set from Victrix contains 27 multipose Macedonian Phalangites, designed to accurately represent the iconic spear-armed infantry of the Hellenistic era. Armed with the sarissa—a pike up to 18 feet long—these soldiers formed the backbone of the Macedonian phalanx, a formation that revolutionised ancient warfare under Philip II and Alexander the Great.

The figures in this set are sculpted in high detail and offer a range of posing options. Multiple arm and head variants allow modellers to create dynamic ranks, and the long pikes give an imposing visual impact on the tabletop. Ideal for historical wargamers, painters, and collectors, these miniatures work well as part of a Macedonian, Hellenistic, or successor-state army.

Perfect for recreating battles from the rise of Macedonia through to the wars of the Diadochi, this set captures the disciplined and fearsome nature of the ancient phalanx in stunning miniature detail.

History:

The Macedonian phalanx was a military innovation developed by Philip II of Macedon and perfected by his son, Alexander the Great. Unlike traditional hoplite formations, the phalanx used long sarissas—double the length of Greek spears—which gave Macedonian infantry reach and shock power. These soldiers trained rigorously to fight in tight, disciplined ranks and were key to Macedonian dominance across the eastern Mediterranean and into Asia. Even after Alexander’s death, phalangites continued to serve in the armies of his successors, shaping the tactics of the Hellenistic world for over a century.
