Zvezda 1/72 MiG-27 Soviet Fighter Bomber (7228)
The MiG-27 was a supersonic ground-attack aircraft developed in the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Based on the airframe of the MiG-23, the MiG-27 was specifically optimised for strike missions against ground targets. It first flew in 1973 and served with several countries well into the late 2010s.
This 1/72 scale model kit by Zvezda accurately reproduces the sleek lines and distinctive features of the MiG-27, including its variable-sweep wing design. The aircraft was equipped with advanced targeting systems such as the PrNK-23 sighting and navigation system, Orbita-20-23K digital computer, and a laser rangefinder. Armament included a powerful six-barrel 30mm GSh-6-30 cannon and up to 4,000 kg of ordnance on seven hardpoints.
The kit consists of 78 parts and builds into a model approximately 23.7cm in length. This is an ideal kit for modellers interested in Soviet Cold War aviation or tactical strike aircraft.

History:
The MiG-27 was developed in the 1970s as a dedicated fighter-bomber variant of the MiG-23. Featuring a reinforced airframe, sophisticated targeting systems, and one of the most powerful cannons ever mounted on a Soviet aircraft, the MiG-27 was built for precision ground attacks. Its variable-geometry wing gave it excellent performance across a wide range of speeds, while its payload flexibility made it a key component in Warsaw Pact strike forces. Although retired from Russian service, the MiG-27 remained in use by other nations for decades, reflecting its robust design and tactical versatility.
