The American Northrop F-5 has been a significant part of the RoCAF for nearly 60 years. They have played a key role in the defence of Taiwan and have been involved in a number of important events. The F-5s’ retirement in 2024 is a sign of the changing security environment in the Taiwan Strait. The remaining F-5s will be replaced by the Taiwan-built T-BE-5A Brave Eagle Advanced Jet Trainer.New tooling Mk 16 ejector seat & 2 versions of nose cone.
