The McDonnell F2H Banshee was one of the early jet fighters that helped transition the US Navy into the jet age. Entering service in the late 1940s, the Banshee played a significant role in carrier-based operations during the Korean War and early Cold War years. The F2H-3 variant featured improved radar and extended range, making it suitable for fleet defence missions. VF-41 “Black Aces,” established in 1950, operated the Banshee before transitioning to newer jet aircraft. This kit captures the look and legacy of one of the Navy’s pioneering jet fighters.
