Airfix Plastic Model Kit
Airfix Westland Lynx AH-7 (1/48) A09101A
The Westland Lynx AH-7 represents a milestone in rotary aviation, combining innovation, performance, and versatility in a single airframe. Developed during the 1970s as a joint project between Westland Helicopters and France’s Sud Aviation, the Lynx was intended to replace several ageing helicopter types across British military forces. From its earliest test flights, the aircraft displayed exceptional capabilities and went on to set multiple world speed records for helicopters.
Highly agile and robust, the Lynx quickly gained a reputation for being one of the most manoeuvrable helicopters ever built. The AH-7 variant was adopted by the British Army for a range of operational roles including reconnaissance, transport, and close support. It also saw deployment in conflict zones such as the Falklands, the Balkans, and Afghanistan. Its modular design and high power-to-weight ratio ensured the Lynx remained effective and adaptable throughout its four-decade service life.
This 1/48 scale Airfix kit captures the detailed form and structure of the Lynx AH-7, complete with authentic markings and precision components. It’s a must-have for aviation enthusiasts and Cold War-era military modellers alike.
