AK Interactive Engines and Metal Weathering Set AK087 contains a coordinated selection of products for creating realistic effects on engines and metal objects, including tank tracks. The set combines products for dirt, grease, oil, rust and steel finishes, providing several ways to add visible use and weathering to mechanical and metallic details.

Two products are included for creating dirt and grease effects on engines. These can be used to give exposed engine parts and other mechanical components a more realistic, used appearance. For metal objects and tracks, the set also provides a wash, a dark rust-coloured pigment and a bright steel-coloured pigment.

This combination makes the set suitable for several stages of a weathering project. The different products can be used to distinguish oily engine effects from rusty tracks and brighter areas of exposed steel, helping individual details remain visible while contributing to an overall weathered finish.

Dark Steel Pigment

The ultra-fine Dark Steel Pigment does not contain metallic particles. Its steel-coloured finish becomes brighter as it is rubbed, with increased rubbing producing a shinier result. This characteristic allows the pigment to create a realistic steel appearance on suitable metal objects and track details.
