Border Model Plastic Model Kit

Jagdpanzer IV L/70(A) Mid (1/35) BT-028

This 1/35 scale Border Model kit replicates the mid-production variant of the Jagdpanzer IV L/70(A), a powerful German tank destroyer fielded during the latter half of World War II. Built on the trusted Panzer IV chassis, the L/70(A) featured the long-barrelled 75mm Pak 42 L/70, designed to effectively counter Allied armour at extended ranges.

Border Model’s kit includes detailed plastic parts, photo-etched components, mesh side skirts, and realistic accessories like water buckets and jerrycans. The mid-variant reflects the balance between early production features and the simplified designs seen in later war models. Excellent surface detail and clean moulding provide modellers with a rewarding and historically accurate build.

  • Includes jerrycans and water buckets
  • Well-detailed suspension and upper hull
  • Suitable for late-war Eastern and Western Front dioramas

Note: This model kit requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.

History:

The Jagdpanzer IV L/70(A) Mid variant represents a transitional phase in Germany’s tank destroyer development. As the need for more potent anti-tank platforms increased in 1944, Alkett produced this variant with the potent 75mm L/70 gun mounted in a casemate-style superstructure. Compared to earlier versions, the mid-production models integrated armour enhancements and maintained some structural features later omitted due to material shortages. It saw combat on both Eastern and Western fronts and contributed to defensive operations in the final year of the war, particularly in ambush roles where its low profile and powerful gun proved effective.
