This 1/35 scale Leopard 2A6 Ukraine edition from Border Model represents one of the most advanced variants of the third-generation German main battle tank. Originally developed by Krauss-Maffei in the 1970s and entering service in 1979, the Leopard 2 has seen continuous upgrades and wide adoption around the world. This particular variant has been fielded by Ukrainian forces in the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian conflict, symbolising international support and battlefield evolution.

The kit includes finely moulded plastic parts with modern detailing, accurate turret shape with appliqué armour, and precise rendering of surface textures and equipment. The Leopard 2A6 features a Rheinmetall 120mm smoothbore cannon, high-performance fire control systems, and a powerful twin-turbo V12 diesel engine. The design enhancements from the A5 onward—most notably the angular turret armour—are replicated in exacting detail.

History:

The Leopard 2 has earned a reputation as one of the most capable tanks in the world. From peacekeeping duties in Kosovo during the 1990s to combat deployments in Afghanistan and Syria, it has continually proven its effectiveness in various theatres. In 2023, Leopard 2A6 tanks supplied to Ukraine became part of the country’s modernised armoured force, engaging Russian positions with precision and resilience.
