Border Model P-51D Mustang Chroma 1/35 Pre-Painted Model Kit
The Border Model P-51D Mustang Chroma (BG-002) is a 1/35 scale model kit of one of the best-known American fighter aircraft of the Second World War. This Chroma edition features a pre-painted finish, offering a different approach to building the famous Mustang.
The P-51D Mustang is a popular subject among aircraft modellers, recognised for its distinctive shape and its place in aviation history. Border Model brings this aircraft to its 1/35 scale range in a pre-painted kit format, combining a familiar WWII fighter subject with the larger scale more commonly associated with military vehicle modelling.
Pre-Painted Chroma Edition
The defining feature of this Chroma release is its pre-painted presentation. Unlike a conventional unpainted model kit, the Chroma version incorporates pre-painted elements into the modelling experience, making the aircraft’s finish a central feature of this particular release.
This approach will appeal to modellers interested in a pre-painted aircraft kit rather than starting with an entirely unpainted model. It also makes the Chroma edition an interesting alternative for anyone who already has conventional P-51D Mustang kits in their collection.
P-51D Mustang in 1/35 Scale
The P-51D Mustang represents one of the most recognisable American fighter aircraft of WWII. Its distinctive appearance has made it a longstanding subject for scale aircraft modelling, with the D variant particularly familiar to enthusiasts of wartime aviation.
Border Model has produced this release in 1/35 scale, rather than the 1/48 or 1/32 scales often associated with aircraft kits. This gives modellers another scale option for representing the Mustang and makes the kit particularly relevant to those whose existing modelling interests centre on 1/35 scale subjects.
The aircraft subject also provides a natural connection with American WWII modelling collections, particularly those focused on the aircraft and military equipment of the period.
