Copper State Models Machine Gun Corps Rider Starting The Motorcycle 1/35 Scale Figure
Machine Gun Corps Rider Starting The Motorcycle
This Copper State Models 1/35 scale figure depicts a British Machine Gun Corps rider in the process of starting a Vickers-Clyno motorcycle. Capturing a realistic moment of preparation before deployment, the figure adds movement and character to First World War dioramas and military vehicle displays.
Produced using modern 3D printing technology, the figure features finely rendered uniform details, realistic equipment and a natural pose that reflects the daily activities of military motorcycle units serving on the Western Front. The detailed sculpting helps bring authenticity to scenes featuring dispatch riders, machine gun units and support personnel operating close to the front lines.
The figure has been designed to complement the Copper State Models Vickers-Clyno motorcycle kits and other British First World War subjects. Whether displayed alongside a motorcycle combination, incorporated into a maintenance scene or used as part of a larger battlefield diorama, it provides an excellent focal point that helps tell the story behind the vehicle.
Suitable for modellers with some figure painting experience, this model offers opportunities for detailed finishing and weathering. The realistic pose and period equipment make it a useful addition to collections focused on British military operations during the Great War.

History
The Machine Gun Corps was formed by the British Army in 1915 to improve the effectiveness of machine gun deployment on the battlefield. As the war progressed, specialised motorcycle units were equipped with Vickers machine guns mounted on sidecar combinations, providing greater mobility than traditional infantry machine gun teams. These units could move rapidly between positions, reinforce threatened sectors and support advancing troops.
Motorcycle riders played a vital role in maintaining these units. In addition to operating the vehicles, they were responsible for transporting ammunition, spare parts and essential supplies. The Vickers-Clyno motorcycle became one of the best-known combinations used by British machine gun units during the conflict. Scenes such as starting the motorcycle before a mission were a routine part of daily operations and provide an interesting glimpse into the practical realities of mechanised warfare during the First World War.
