The Das Werk Raupenschlepper Ost (RSO/OI) Type 470 is a superbly detailed 1/35 scale model of the classic German articulated tracked transport tractor used extensively on the Eastern Front. Based on the Oberschlesien Industrie Type 470 upgrade, this kit features a rugged increase in payload and crew comfortcomplete with optional folding canopy, articulated trailer hitch, and detailed engine bay. Ideal for logistics and supply dioramas in challenging winter terrain.

Historical Background:

The RSO/OI (“Third Type”) was an improved variant of the standard Raupenschlepper Ost tractor, designed to better cope with harsh winter conditions on the Eastern Front. Featuring more powerful engine cooling, reinforced tracks, a larger cargo bed, and optional canopy, the Type 470 saw service from late 1943 onwards, supporting logistics, artillery towing, and recovery missions amid mud and snow.
