History

The Mitsubishi T-2 entered service in the 1970s as Japan’s first supersonic trainer aircraft. It was also developed into the F-1 strike fighter, marking an important step in Japan’s post-war aviation industry.

The Blue Impulse aerobatic team adopted the T-2 in the 1980s, using it to perform precision formation displays and high-speed manoeuvres at air shows nationwide. The aircraft’s performance and striking livery made it a memorable chapter in the team’s history.
