Hasegawa 1/20 Lotus 79 1978 German GP Winner Model Kit

Recreate one of the defining racing cars of 1978 with this detailed Hasegawa 1/20 scale Lotus 79 model kit. The kit represents the 1978 German Grand Prix-winning Car No. 5 driven by Mario Andretti, with bonus markings also included for Ronnie Peterson’s Car No. 6.

Based on research of the actual vehicle, the model captures the Lotus 79’s distinctive flowing bodywork together with the internal structure that made the car so notable. The construction is designed to let the modeller experience the layout of the machine as it comes together, from the internal monocoque to the V8 DFV engine and the shaped underside associated with the car’s ground-effect design.

Detailed 1/20 Scale Construction

The finished model measures 221mm long and 108mm wide and is assembled from 152 parts. The kit includes a detailed representation of the monocoque and V8 DFV engine, while the underside has also been carefully shaped to reproduce the structure of the wing car.
