History
The Yamaha RZ250, known in some markets as the RD250LC, became one of the most influential lightweight sports motorcycles of the early 1980s. Powered by a lively liquid-cooled two-stroke twin-cylinder engine, it delivered performance that appealed to both new riders and experienced enthusiasts.
The motorcycle quickly gained a reputation for its responsive handling, strong acceleration, and race-inspired design. Its lightweight chassis and powerful engine made it one of the most exciting road bikes available in its class.
The 4L3 version became particularly popular in Japan and helped establish Yamaha’s reputation for producing high-performance two-stroke motorcycles. Optional fairings and accessories allowed owners to customise their machines for a more sporting appearance.
Today, the Yamaha RZ250 remains a highly regarded classic motorcycle and an important part of Japanese motorcycling history, representing the golden era of road-going two-stroke performance machines.
