History: The IAR.80B was an improved version of Romania’s domestically produced IAR.80 fighter, designed by Industria Aeronautică Română. Over Stalingrad, Romanian pilots flying the IAR.80B provided vital air cover for Axis ground forces, engaging Soviet aircraft in fierce combat.
