Three Operational Crew Figures

A standard S-64 crew consists of two or three members. The two pilots occupy the forward cockpit, where they manage flight operations and carry out the mission. In a firefighting configuration, the pilot-in-command sits on the left and also operates the aircraft’s water discharge system. Before a water drop, the crew sounds a dedicated warning siren to alert personnel on the ground.

The copilot sits on the right, assisting the command pilot and providing relief during extended missions. These two figures are posed in authentic working positions, helping to create a convincing occupied cockpit for a transport or firefighting helicopter display.

Distinctive Rear Station Operator

The third figure represents the operator at the S-64’s rear-facing control station, one of the aircraft’s defining features. Equipped with a complete set of flight controls, this station allows the operator to fly the helicopter while attaching or precisely positioning sling loads.

A specialised bubble window gives the rear operator direct visual contact with the suspended load and drop zone. This arrangement enables heavy loads to be positioned with remarkable precision, often within centimetres. When operating with a smaller crew, the copilot can move from the forward flight deck to the rear station when required.
