Matho Models Graffiti Decals Set 1

Add detailed graffiti to your models and scenes with this Matho Models water-slide decal set. Designed primarily for 1/35 scale, the graffiti designs can also be used with other scales, giving you plenty of flexibility when adding urban details to your projects.

The set contains one 9 x 15 cm sheet of assorted graffiti decals. The designs are supplied without pre-weathering, allowing you to choose exactly how clean, faded or weathered they appear when blending them into your finished model. This project is a cooperation between Matho Models and Alternity Miniatures.

Fine Detail and Easy Application

The water-slide decals use separated film, so each individual design comes away automatically without needing to cut precisely around its edges. Ultra-thin decal film helps the designs conform closely to the surface, while the semi-matte finish provides a useful starting point for final finishing and weathering.

Applying the Graffiti Decals

Cut out your chosen decal with a sharp knife and place it in water for approximately 5-10 seconds to loosen it from the carrier paper. Gently slide the decal into position using tweezers. Decal softener, such as Micro Set and Sol, can be used to improve adhesion, particularly on non-flat surfaces.

Once positioned, use tissue paper with light pressure to remove excess water or decal softener and secure the decal. After application, airbrush a protective coat of varnish. A semi-matte or matte varnish can be used to reduce glare where required.

The decals can then be incorporated into your normal weathering process. Because the graffiti is not pre-weathered, you remain in control of the final appearance, making it easier to blend each design naturally into the surrounding surface and overall finish of your scale model project.
