Matho Models Shop Front Signs B provides a varied selection of water-slide decals for adding detailed shop front signage to scale modelling projects. Designed in 1/35 scale, the decals can also be used with other scales where their size suits the project. The set contains one A6-sized sheet with various designs, providing a useful choice of individual signs for adding extra detail to suitable models and scenes.

The decals are supplied without pre-weathering, giving you control over their final appearance. This allows the signs to be left with a cleaner finish or weathered to your preferred level as part of the finishing process, helping them blend naturally with surrounding surfaces and the overall design.

Ultra-Thin Water-Slide Decals

These water-slide decals feature separated film, allowing the individual designs to release one by one without the need to cut precisely around the printed edges. The ultra-thin decal material is designed to adapt well to different surfaces, while high-definition printing produces crisp results even in the smallest details.

Applying and Finishing the Signs

Cut out the required decal with a sharp knife and place it in water for approximately 5-10 seconds to loosen it from the carrier paper. Gently slide the decal into position using tweezers. Decal softener, such as Micro Set and Sol, can improve adhesion, particularly when applying decals to non-flat surfaces.

Once positioned, use tissue paper and apply light pressure over the decal to remove excess water or decal softener and fix it into place. After drying, an airbrushed coat of varnish can provide protection. A semi-matte or matte varnish can also reduce glare if required. The usual weathering process can then be applied at your preferred level to blend the shop front signs into the finished design.
