Miniart Junkers-Larsen JL.6 (1/48) 48007

The MiniArt 1/48 Junkers-Larsen JL.6 kit offers a finely detailed representation of one of aviation’s early post-WWI transport aircraft. Based on the German-built Junkers F 13, the JL.6 was an American modification developed by the Junkers-Larsen Corporation. Notable for its all-metal construction and corrugated skin, the JL.6 was among the first attempts to commercialise air transport in the United States and served briefly as a mailplane and light passenger aircraft.

This high-quality 1/48 scale kit features detailed surface textures, full cockpit interior, and accurately shaped control surfaces. MiniArt’s attention to detail includes crisp corrugation moulding, engine parts, and optional configurations for a realistic finish. Suitable for both aviation history enthusiasts and modellers looking to expand beyond military subjects, this aircraft offers a unique and historic build experience.

  • Scale: 1/48
  • Detailed all-metal airframe with corrugated surface texture
  • Accurate cockpit and engine detail
  • Includes photo-etched parts for enhanced realism
  • Marking options included for multiple liveries
  • Clear parts for canopy and windows

Note: This model kit requires assembly and painting. Glue, paints and tools are not included and must be purchased separately.

History:

The Junkers-Larsen JL.6 was an American development of the German Junkers F 13, the world’s first all-metal monoplane transport aircraft. Licensed and modified in the United States following World War I, the JL.6 saw limited service as a mailplane and experimental passenger aircraft. It featured a duralumin airframe with distinctive corrugated metal skin — an innovation that would become a hallmark of Junkers designs. Although production was short-lived, the JL.6 represented a key step in the transition from military aviation to commercial and civil flight. MiniArt’s 1/48 kit captures this historic aircraft with exceptional detail and craftsmanship.
