Minibase Plastic Model Kit

Su-33 Flanker-D (1/48) 8001

The Minibase Su-33 Flanker-D in 1/48 scale is an exceptionally engineered plastic model kit of the Russian Navy’s powerful carrier-based fighter. Featuring precision moulding and an accurate airframe profile, this kit captures the complexity of the Su-33’s design, including its signature folding wings, detailed AL-31F engines, and carrier-adapted features such as deployable air brakes and reinforced landing gear.

Inside the box, builders will find a wealth of fine details — from the complete cockpit and undercarriage bays to realistic control surfaces and external loadouts. The parts fit is designed for precision, reflecting Minibase’s commitment to high-end tooling and surface detail. Three marking options are included, notably Red 80 of the 279th Shipborne Fighter Aviation Regiment, 2nd Squadron, “Tigers”, based at Severomorsk Naval Air Base.

  • Scale: 1/48
  • Injection-moulded plastic with clear parts
  • Full cockpit, landing gear, and bay detail
  • AL-31F engine nozzles in open position
  • Optional positions for slats, flaps, and flying surfaces
  • Accurate wing-fold mechanism and surface panel detail
  • Includes 3 Russian Navy marking options

History: The Sukhoi Su-33 Flanker-D is the navalised derivative of the Su-27, developed to operate from Russia’s sole aircraft carrier, Admiral Kuznetsov. Entering service in the 1990s, it combined the proven performance of the Su-27 airframe with carrier adaptations, including folding wings, arrestor gear, and corrosion protection. Designed for air superiority and fleet defence, the Su-33 continues to represent a vital part of Russia’s maritime aviation capability, embodying power, manoeuvrability, and endurance over the seas.
