The Westland Puma HC.1 served as a mainstay of the RAF tactical transport fleet for decades. Based on the French Aerospatiale Puma, it was manufactured under licence by Westland in the UK and adapted for RAF requirements. Its varied duties included troop transport, evacuations and supply flights, with service in Northern Ireland and during the Gulf War.
