Red Fox Studio 1/72 WWII German Brick Base Type 2
The Red Fox Studio Type 2 Brick Base provides a prepared scenic surface for creating a 1/72 WWII German diorama. Measuring 300 x 230mm, it features colourful printed brickwork with a three-dimensional effect that adds depth and definition to the groundwork.
The design is produced on 5mm thick extruded PVC, giving you the option of working with the complete base or adapting it to a smaller display. The material can be cut and scaled to the required dimensions, allowing the brick surface to fit the composition rather than determining its final size.
Adaptable Type 2 Brick Surface
Designed for 1/72 scale WWII German scenes, the Type 2 pattern creates a defined area of brickwork around which the rest of the diorama can be planned. The printed three-dimensional effect adds visual detail while still leaving plenty of scope to add other scenic elements.
The full 300 x 230mm surface can be used where a larger area of continuous brickwork is required. For more compact displays, sections can be cut from the extruded PVC and incorporated into the layout, making it easier to match the groundwork to the available space.
Develop the Finish with Paints and Washes
The printed surface is resistant to UV rays and to various paints and washes. This allows additional painting and weathering to be applied where required, helping to introduce tonal variation and integrate the brickwork with the wider appearance of the scene.
A semi-gloss finish is present on the supplied surface. A coat of matt varnish is recommended for a more realistic appearance, reducing unwanted sheen while maintaining the detail and three-dimensional character of the printed design.
