Rye Field Models Plastic Model Kit

T-34/85 Model 1944 No.174 Factory (1/35) RM5040

The T-34/85 was the Soviet Union’s answer to increasingly powerful German armour in the later stages of World War II. Rye Field Models’ 1/35 scale kit captures the specific production variant from Factory No.174 in 1944, featuring distinctive turret casting texture and wartime fittings. This kit offers a rewarding and historically rich project for modellers interested in Eastern Front armour.

  • Highly detailed parts with accurate 1944 No.174 Factory turret
  • Slide-moulded gun barrel and finely detailed surface textures
  • Photo-etch parts for enhanced realism
  • Workable suspension and individual track links
  • Optional hatches, fuel tanks and stowage elements
  • Marking options for Soviet Red Army units

History

The T-34/85 was a significant upgrade to the original T-34, featuring a more powerful 85mm gun, improved armour, and a redesigned turret capable of housing three crew members. Introduced in 1944, it restored parity against German heavy tanks such as the Tiger I and Panther. The No.174 Factory in Omsk produced this particular variant, recognisable by its unique cast turret features and wartime modifications. The T-34/85 played a vital role in the Soviet push through Eastern Europe and into Berlin. Its durability, production efficiency, and combat effectiveness cemented it as one of the most influential tanks of the 20th century, remaining in service around the world long after the war.
