This special edition Tamiya set combines two historically significant Japanese WWII subjects in 1/48 scale — the Mitsubishi Ki-46 III Type 100 Command Recon Plane and the Type 95 Kurogane 4×4 Light Vehicle. Designed for cost-effectiveness and display synergy, these kits bring together an aircraft known for its high-speed reconnaissance missions and one of the world’s first lightweight 4×4 military vehicles.

The Ki-46 III was powered by twin 1,300hp Ha-112-II Kinsei-Kai engines, achieving speeds up to 630km/h, making it a formidable reconnaissance platform during the Pacific War. The Type 95 Kurogane, with around 4,800 units produced, served in roles such as reconnaissance and communications across China, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific theatre.
