Tamiya 1/24 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Clic Loc

This Tamiya 1/24 scale Clic Loc kit recreates the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, the performance-focused version of the first-generation 911 introduced in 1973. The original car combined a 210 hp air-cooled flat-six engine with extensive weight reduction and the distinctive rear ducktail that became one of its most recognisable features.

Designed for snap-together assembly, this plastic model kit requires no cement. The white body and separately coloured, metal-plated components also mean painting isn’t needed to achieve the intended finish. The completed model measures 173mm long, 74mm wide and 53mm high.

Detailed Body and Interior

The flowing shape of the Carrera RS 2.7 is faithfully recreated in 1/24 scale, including its characteristic ducktail rear section. Transparent stickers add the Carrera logo and stripes, while metal-plated parts provide details like the window frames and side mirrors.

Inside, the lightweight character of the original car is represented with detailed seats, steering wheel and dashboard. Transparent parts are supplied for the windows and lights, while the front wheels can be steered to give the finished model a more natural display position.

Chassis Detail

The underside is more than a simple base. It includes representations of the Porsche’s rear-engine layout, with the flat-six engine, exhaust system and suspension arms reproduced as part of the chassis detail. The wheels combine metal-plated rims with red spoke parts specific to this white-body version.

Clic Loc Assembly

As part of Tamiya’s Clic Loc 1/24 Car Model Series, the kit is designed around straightforward snap-fit construction. The newly designed instruction manual uses mainly illustrated assembly steps and also includes assembly tips, background information about the real car and a perspective diagram highlighting points of interest.

The combination of snap-together construction, pre-coloured parts and detailed interior and chassis makes this Porsche a particularly accessible addition to Tamiya’s 1/24 plastic kit range, while retaining plenty of recognisable detail from the Carrera RS 2.7.
