Tamiya 1/24 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Red Clic Loc

This Tamiya 1/24 scale Clic Loc kit recreates the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, the performance-focused version of the first-generation 911 introduced in 1973. The original car used an air-cooled flat-six engine producing 210 hp and was extensively lightened, combining strong performance with the distinctive styling that made the Carrera RS a notable part of Porsche’s sports car history.

Designed for snap-together assembly, this plastic model kit requires no cement. The red body and pre-finished components also mean that painting is not needed to complete the model. Once assembled, it measures 173mm long, 74mm wide and 53mm high.

Body and Interior Detail

The flowing shape of the Carrera RS 2.7 is faithfully reproduced in 1/24 scale, including its characteristic ducktail rear section. Transparent stickers recreate the stripes and Carrera logo, while metal-plated parts add detail to the window frames and side mirror. Transparent components are provided for the windows and lights.

The lightweight interior of the original car is represented with detailed seats, steering wheel and dashboard. The front wheels can also be steered, allowing you to display the finished Porsche with the wheels positioned as needed.

Detailed Chassis

The underside includes representations of the Porsche’s rear-engine layout rather than being treated as a simple base. The flat-six engine, exhaust system and suspension arms are reproduced as part of the chassis detail. This red-body version uses metal-plated wheel rims and wheel spoke parts, complementing the other plated details around the model.

Clic Loc Snap-Fit Assembly

Part of Tamiya’s Clic Loc 1/24 Car Model Series, the kit combines straightforward snap-fit construction with the detail expected from a scale car model. Its newly designed instruction manual relies mainly on illustrated assembly steps and includes assembly tips, background information about the real Carrera RS, and a perspective diagram highlighting points of interest.

The snap-together construction and pre-coloured parts make the assembly process particularly straightforward, while the detailed interior, chassis underside, plated components and dedicated stickers retain the character of the 1973 Porsche Carrera RS 2.7 within Tamiya’s 1/24 plastic kit format.
