Wargames Atlantic Horselords – 28mm Fantasy Cavalry
The Wargames Atlantic Horselords box set brings the mounted warriors of the Great Grass to the tabletop. This 28mm hard plastic kit contains 36 cavalry figures, divided into three distinct troop types: Stormriders, Thunderbows and Hearthguard.
Once feared as coastal raiders, the Horselords have become a people of farmers and herders who still maintain their formidable warrior traditions. Their mounted warriors stand ready to answer the High Queen’s call, providing a distinctive cavalry force for fantasy tabletop wargaming.
Warriors of the Great Grass
Centuries ago, the ancestors of the Horselords travelled the seas, raiding coastal settlements and surviving through conquest. Their way of life came to an end when High King Eridic III hunted them down, nearly destroying their people and burning their ships.
Allowed to settle along the edge of the Great Grass, the survivors found a new leader in Wrolk the Fair. He established a code that required his people to live within the law, setting them on a different path from their raiding ancestors.
Although most Horselords now work the land and tend their herds, their martial heritage remains central to their identity. Their mighty steeds and experienced mounted warriors continue to serve the High Queen when called upon.
Three Cavalry Units in One Box
The kit provides enough figures to assemble three different cavalry formations, each consisting of 12 figures arranged across six bases.
- 12 Stormriders: Six bases of mounted warriors.
- 12 Thunderbows: Six bases of cavalry figures.
- 12 Hearthguard: Six bases of mounted troops.
These three formations allow you to represent different elements of the Horselords’ mounted forces within a single fantasy army. Together, they provide 18 cavalry bases when assembled in the stated configurations.
Kit Contents and Bases
This Wargames Atlantic box set contains three hard plastic frames with a total of 36 cavalry figures. The kit also includes 40mm x 20mm dual-use bases for arranging the figures into their respective units.
The 28mm figures are intended for fantasy tabletop wargaming and provide a mounted force built around the Horselords’ distinctive background and warrior traditions.
Miniature Design and Artwork
The Horselords miniatures were sculpted by Rob Macfarlane, with box illustration by Marco Capparoni and figure painting by Allister Daire.
With 12 figures of each troop type and bases included, the box provides the components for assembling all three Horselords cavalry formations, representing the mounted warriors who defend the Great Grass and serve their High Queen.
