Mr Hobby Aqueous Water-Based Acrylic Model Paints
Mr Hobby Aqueous is a range of water-based acrylic model paints designed for scale-modelling projects. Supplied in 10ml jars, the selection includes gloss, semi-gloss, flat and metallic finishes across standard colours, clear coats and shades identified for particular historical or modelling subjects.
The Aqueous formula is suitable for brush and airbrush application. Its smooth flow, quick drying time and water clean-up make it accessible to beginners while also supporting the controlled painting techniques used by experienced modellers. The paint is designed to adhere to plastic and resin surfaces when used according to the product instructions.
Gloss, Flat, Semi-Gloss and Metallic Colours
The live range contains core colours such as White Gloss, Black Gloss, Red Gloss, Yellow Gloss, Flat White and Flat Black. Clear finishes are also represented by Gloss Clear and Flat Clear, allowing shoppers to compare colours and finishes within the same Mr Hobby Aqueous line.
Metallic choices include Silver, Steel and Burnt Iron. Semi-gloss examples cover Interior Green, Neutral Gray, Dark Earth and several colours identified by FS or RLM references, including Gray FS36375, Gray FS36320, RLM02 Gray and RLM76 Light Blue. Tire Black provides a further flat colour intended for a specific modelling subject.
Acrylic Paint for Different Scale-Modelling Subjects
The broader Aqueous colour range covers military, aircraft, automotive and fantasy subjects. These paints can therefore be considered for projects including tanks, aircraft, cars, figures and Gunpla, with the exact colour and finish selected according to the model being painted.
When matching a paint to a project, check the complete product name as well as the colour code and finish shown on its listing. Similar-looking shades may carry different FS or RLM references, and the stated finish may be gloss, semi-gloss, flat or metallic.
Brush and Airbrush Application
Mr Hobby Aqueous paints can be used for hand brushing or airbrushing. The saved product guidance recommends thinning with Mr Hobby Aqueous thinner and applying multiple light coats for the best results. Follow the instructions for the selected paint and thinner, particularly when preparing paint for airbrush use.
