Copper State Models Machine Gun Corps Corporal Morning Tea 1/35 Scale Figure
Machine Gun Corps Corporal Morning Tea
This Copper State Models 1/35 scale figure captures a quieter moment from military life during the First World War. The figure depicts a British Machine Gun Corps corporal seated in the sidecar of a Vickers-Clyno motorcycle while enjoying a cup of tea, a familiar sight among British servicemen both behind and near the front lines.
Produced using modern 3D printing technology, the figure features crisp details throughout the uniform, equipment and facial features. The relaxed pose provides a contrast to more action-focused military figures, making it particularly useful for creating realistic camp, maintenance or rest-stop scenes. Small moments such as this help bring military vehicle displays to life by showing the human side of wartime service.
The figure has been designed to complement Copper State Models Vickers-Clyno motorcycle kits and other British First World War subjects. It can be incorporated into a wide range of diorama settings, from roadside halts and maintenance stops to rear-area encampments and support positions. The seated pose is especially suited to motorcycle sidecar displays where additional crew figures help create a more complete scene.
Suitable for intermediate and experienced modellers, the figure offers excellent painting opportunities thanks to its detailed sculpting and realistic uniform folds. Weathering and finishing techniques can be used to recreate the conditions experienced by British troops serving on the Western Front.

History
Although the First World War is often remembered for large-scale battles and trench warfare, much of a soldier’s daily life was spent waiting, maintaining equipment and carrying out routine duties. Tea played an important role in British military culture, providing comfort and a sense of normality even in difficult conditions. Wherever possible, troops would take opportunities to prepare and enjoy tea during breaks in operations.
The Machine Gun Corps relied heavily on specialist personnel and equipment to keep units operational. Motorcycle combinations such as the Vickers-Clyno allowed machine guns, ammunition and supplies to be transported more efficiently across the battlefield. Between missions, crews spent time maintaining their vehicles, resting and preparing for future deployments. Scenes like this provide a realistic glimpse into the everyday experiences of British soldiers serving during the Great War.
